Swallowing the Sun's Chi rule

This is an old chi kung meditation that has been seen for ages in many different forms.


How to Practice
earth
  1. Imagine that the sun is bathing your body with a golden light, showering down over your skin, covering you with this lovely yellow gold light.
  2. Open your mouth and swallow the sunlight. Imagine you actually can swallow it, mixing it with saliva and having it drop into your belly at the very centre of your body.
  3. Imagine or feel it filling your whole body with healing energy. Feel the warmth as if the centre of your body has become the sun and that light and warmth is being spread through the entire body.

Notes:

If you can do this meditation in the daytime on a sunny day, it's great. If not just go ahead with it as though it were a sunny day.


Final Notes:

There are no right or wrong ways to do a meditation. The instructions are guidelines; adapt them to who you are and to your needs at that particular time. Be curious about the process itself.

Remember most meditations become richer the more you practice them. They reveal more of themselves. It can take practice to remember to do a meditation when you need to, and it can take practice to go through the steps. But that's why it is called practice, and for most of us, we practice for the rest of our lives.
