Oracles

I've messed around with tarot cards for a long time and the
more I work with them, the more they seem to reveal. I find it fun to see what
comes up and how it relates to my day, and my life. Each day I send out Sunny
Day readings to a number of people and at the same time, I do one for myself.
Here are some of the things I have discovered:
A head's-up for something unpleasant can help us keep from
feeling blindsided:
If Murphy's Law were an energy, that would be what is happening
right now...
A sign of good news can lift our spirits:
Good things are in the wind. Luck or healing, faith or
optimism...
The reading can speak of the trip you have planned for that
day:
Movement and change and lead the way to new experiences - new
places, new people... Enjoy each stop along the way.
Encouragement is always welcome. It can be nice to feel
like we are on the right track.
I see progress today ... It may take effort, but it promises
mastery.
When I spent a day studying the issue of self-worth for an
article and for better understanding, the self-worth card came up for that
day. It was more about the day of study than what I felt.
Today I see the resurgence of a deeper level of self esteem. Let
your passion for life...
It helps not to jump to conclusions. When I saw this energy
come up the other day, I was curious but didn't worry. I've learned from past
experience that it might not be quite what it appears.
Today's energy speaks of an unexpected temporary setback. In money
matters it could be something like a car repair or the fridge breaking down.
In matters of the heart it could be about feeling left out... remember that it
is temporary.
It turns out it was not about me feeling bad or having a
loss, it was about an interaction with a friend. Her behaviour puzzled me
until I remembered the Sunny Day I had for that day and wondered if she might
be feeling left out. Turns out, that's what was going on.
Sometimes we get the same energy day after day, or every
other day for a week or so. Repeats don't mean that we're stuck in a groove.
They mean that what we're dealing with is big for us right now. When it's
something like this one, it can feel really optimistic.
Change is afoot - change that you may not have expected or may be
out of your hands. But it's good change...
When it's one like this, it can indicate a strong time of growth.
Something has turned out to be not what you'd hoped for... Let it
go. Give it time. Re-examine your motives. And look ahead, not
back.
I get that one a lot.
We can use the energy for the day as a way to affirm a
quality in ourselves.
Today you can meet delays with patience and uncertainty with
grace. There's no rush.
Or to be a reminder of what we want to keep in mind.
Try not to be too quick to put up your shields today...
Sometimes I see humour in the reading, as though the cards
are having as much fun with me as I am with them. I got this one on a day when
every streetcar I tried to catch arrived and left just before I got to the
stop and I ended up slogging through a biting, snowy wind to get where I was
going.
I see travel, movement, ... It may take effort.
And I got "The Lovers" the next day, when visiting with a
freshly-fallen-in-love couple.
The day before Christmas, I got this.
If you've been waiting for good family news, it is coming. I see
a celebration and a change in your domestic environment for the better. I see
people working together and happiness.
I thought the cards might be messing with me when a family member got out of
bed grumpy, grumpy, grumpy and there was no sign in sight that things were
about to change. But in the end that was not so. The energy was spot on after
all. Much of my day was spent working side by side with my daughter and
granddaughter, preparing their home for the holiday celebration. And the
grumpy one? After a little while he lightened up and felt better.
Whatever oracle we use - tarot cards, a daily horoscope,
Angel Cards, Runes, or Sunny Days - watching how they work and how we respond
to them can be fun and interesting. We may not always quite know why a certain
energy comes up on a certain day, but by trusting that it's something that
needs to be aired, we can stay curious and open to what is unfolding - not
just in the cards, but in life.
I like working with oracles. The more I work with them,
the more they seem to reveal.
