Exploring the inner reaches of your consciousness is not a difficult or mystical or unusual activity. Rather, it is becoming aware of many of the methods you use to sense things around you, other than your usual five senses. You are using these (inner) senses constantly. They work in conjunction with your five senses. Your body, your consciousness, your emotions are continually spinning a tale of what life is around you based on the information from all these places.
Many of these inner senses may seem more subtle than the outer ones but they are just as powerful, if not more so. They are just as reliable, if not more so. And they are just as worthy of your attention, if not more so.
Pay attention then, when a strange feeling assails you that seems to come out of nowhere. Pay attention when you feel a tingle of pleasure over the entire surface of your skin. Pay attention when you get an inner urging to call someone or go somewhere or do something. These all are your inner senses, reminding you that you have more information at your disposal than the information that is gathered by your five physical senses alone.
We are Dogwood. We do not have eyes and ears or smell or touch, the way you do. We feel physically. We sense physically. We know with inner wisdom. We have a mingling of our inner and outer senses to the point where we do not clearly distinguish between one and the other. Our feeling can be likened to many of your combined outer senses. Our knowing can be likened to your combined inner senses. And we use these outer and inner senses in a dance that complements and enriches each other in their abilities to gather the information we need.
See your senses, all of them, inner and outer, working together in this same dance. Use them all. Acknowledge them all. Become aware of them all. And watch how their combinations enhance your ability to receive and filter the information you need. We are Dogwood. Be like us.
